Lived in Ynysddu all my life and so did my father and Grandfather in Graig View.

greatgranfather was a fireman when the miners had a sit down strike. The strike is mentioned in a newspaper in a war museum in Jersey.

Her maiden name is Moreton, her name is Majorie, her mothers name was Gladys and her fathers Charlie, they moved to Syndicate Terrace in Cum, then to London and then Slough, she talks of her life in Ynysddu and I used take her back often. hi i now live in the corner shop but its been turned back into a house i grew up living in the shop and then bought it when it came up for sale .

Just recieved my Great grandmother's death certificate. She died in 1915 whilst living at 9 Alexandra Street. Her husband John was working a Colliery Roadman (underground)

My name was Dorothy Jones and I lived at No 65 Alexandra Rd. My grandmother Grace Jones lived next door. I started school at the infant school at the bottom of the road. Junior school was in Cwmfelinfach and then I went to the grammar school at Pontllanfraith.I left Ynysddu in 1965.

Maiden name Gibbs - lived up Mynyddislwyn and I remember Mrs Davies at the corner shop. Brought back loads of memories opening this website.

i think the women standing near the kerb could be my mother -in-law i remeber mrs davis in the cornner shop and her daugther sandra was my friend also remeber tom and doreen freeman with the shop next door to mrs davis as my in-laws live in 23 next door to the shop

my husband brin bush live at 23 until we got married in 1964 then we live at 89 until we move to poole dorset in 1979
